A2: Persuasive Memo to the Dean
Directions:
To practice your business writing and persuasive skills as well as conduct research on a your group has been assigned related to course content that is necessary for today’s workplace, work within your group to collaboratively write a short memo.
The memo should persuade Dean Vinze of George Mason University’s School of Business that the assigned skill is essential for to learn and should be included (or continue to be included) in this course curriculum.
Your memo should address the following questions:
- Why is it important that new business professionals know how to use this skill (post-graduation)?
- What is the key information related to your skill that Dean Vinze and future business students should know?
- Where have you seen the importance of this skill/information come up in other places (from other courses, secondary research, or )? Provide an example.
- What could happen if students do not practice this skill or learn about this information during business school? Explain.
After reviewing the research on your topic, develop your arguments to effectively respond to the questions above. Base your arguments on the research, using it to support your claims while maintaining your own perspective. Use persuasion to get your points across in the memo (refer back to the rhetorical appeals and persuasion principles, if needed).
The assignment should be in written in Memo Format
It should also be a minimum of four (4) paragraphs and include at least four (4) sources (essentially one per student). Make sure to in APA format within the memo to show how your research supports your arguments and include a reference page in APA format as an addendum.

One group member should submit your memo to the A2 folder.
