Every community in the world has its unique make up and environment. Atlanta, Georgia, is a place with high goals and prosperous future. Peoples traditions and beliefs center on bettering the lives of the community, as well as their own. It is clear that social health of Atlanta is on the rise and is expected to grow even further.

There are three factors that relate to the status in the community of Atlanta. The following will be an analysis of health, death and crime rates (Lundy & Janes, 2009). Currently, there is a great number of health institutions in Atlanta. Some of them include: Atlanta Medical Center, Grady Health System, Good Samaritan Health Center, Centers for Decease Control and Prevention, Atlanta Health Associates and many more. This is a clear indication that people pay great attention to the health issues and are focused on bettering the health of the community. The death rates in the hospitals, according to the raw numbers, are somewhat higher in heart conditions but the numbers do not represent the true matter of things. The difference is so small that it is considered the same as national. For example, Northside Hospital has received many awards for its high level of patient care. It continues to better the conditions and takes the care of patients very seriously. The crime rates in Atlanta have gone down significantly. Between the years 2001 and 2009 it dropped 40 percent while violent crime was down 55 percent. It has been so significant that it greatly differs from the national numbers. But the unfortunate fact is that Atlanta lies on the path of and so the crime statistics are majorly affected by that. The police have and effort to increase the vigilance and the enforcement of laws (Pilcher, 2011).

As mentioned above, the health in the community is very important for people in Atlanta. Recently, there has been an important breakthrough in medicine. It is the CyberKnife, which is used to treat patients with cancer. It is so rare that WellStar center is the only one that has it in all of Georgia. It makes the treatment non-surgical and there is no pain. It can be used anywhere on the body and on any form of cancer. It treats cancers that were considered untreatable previously, making it a unique place to be treated. Another benefit to the community is the publication of articles that have a list that names the best doctors and places for the specific conditions. This shows that people are very close and friendly in the community, focused on helping and supporting each other. The health professionals are determined to do the best they can, spending their lives learning about medicine and advancing it in all possible ways. There is also a great attention that is paid to children and their treatment. There are a number of hospitals and clinics that specialize in childs health and have all the necessary equipment. For example, Atlanta Pediatric Hospital is one of leading centers in the country. It specializes and is recognized as most efficient in treating cancer, cardiac, neonatal, orthopedic and other conditions (Pilcher, 2011).

It is evident that Atlanta is a well established community with clear and optimistic goals. The businesses are thriving and an interesting fact is that women own 43% of all businesses in Atlanta. This shows how the community treats everyone equally and with the highest respect. There is also a Justice Center in Atlanta that focuses on the training and resolution of conflicts. It is targeted towards both the community and the individuals. It provides practical ways and techniques to deal with family based conflicts and social problems. It is a nationally recognized institution with high quality instruction in mediation and practice of the techniques. A lot of resources are directed towards the environment and the finding of mechanisms that would better and enhance the life of the community. There are programs that deal with hazardous waste emissions and remediation. New technologies are constantly tested to find better ways in the disposal of the detrimental waste. There is environmental engineering that specializes in the and solutions. There are many hydrogeological investigations, which deal with the natural resources of the area and the uses for them (Pilcher, 2011). All the listed benefits of Atlanta create a very healthy environment in the community. The overall condition of the social lives and make-up of the community provides great opportunities and resources for the people in general and individuals. The social programs that are in place support the infrastructure of the community. They in advancing and developing the already existing technologies and methodologies. The interaction between the citizens is a very important aspect that provides a framework for the community. If people are alienated from each other and avoid any contact, it will very much reflect in the social programs and the make-up of the community.
